Tehran: Ibrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, claimed on Sunday that the United States suffered a crushing defeat in southern Isfahan. He made this assertion shortly after President Donald Trump stated that he had successfully rescued a second crew member (pilot) of an F-15 aircraft, who had gone missing after the plane was shot down by Iran.

While President Trump hailed this as one of the U.S. military's most daring search-and-rescue operations—affirming that the government would never leave a soldier behind—Iran declared it a victory of its own, claiming to have shot down a C-130-class aircraft involved in the operation.

What didi Iran claim?

According to Press TV, Zolfaghari stated, "The Iranian military's heroic operations against American aggressors in southern Isfahan expose the hollow reality of the U.S. military and the shameful failure of its forces. Trump is attempting to sow confusion in public opinion in an effort to justify the crushing defeat of his weak military." He further added, "We had previously warned that the nation's brave fighters within the armed forces—with God's assistance—would shoot down any aggressor and utterly crush any invaders. The Iranian military's decisive victory in southern Isfahan stands as a clear testament to this courageous resolve."

What Did Trump Say Regarding the Pilot's Rescue Operation?

This development unfolded after Trump, in a social media post, characterized the rescue operation as a victory for the United States. He also confirmed that the rescued crew member had sustained injuries. The American President wrote, “We got him! My fellow Americans, over the past few hours, the U.S. military has successfully executed one of the most daring search-and-rescue operations in American history. This mission was undertaken for one of our finest crew members—an officer who is also a highly respected Colonel—and I am absolutely thrilled to inform you that he is now completely safe. This brave warrior was trapped behind enemy lines in the rugged mountains of Iran, where our adversaries were in constant pursuit, closing in on him with every passing hour. Yet, he was never truly alone; for his Commander-in-Chief, the Secretary of Defense, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and his fellow warriors were monitoring his location around the clock—24 hours a day—and planning his rescue with unwavering dedication.”

He further explained that after two 'Black Hawk' helicopters were targeted by local Iranian factions, the U.S. military dispatched dozens of aircraft—armed with the world's most lethal weaponry—to conduct a second rescue operation. Trump stated, "Acting on my orders, the U.S. military deployed dozens of aircraft—equipped with the world's most formidable weapons—to bring him home. He sustained injuries, but he will make a full recovery. This miraculous search-and-rescue mission comes on the heels of the successful rescue yesterday of another brave pilot—a mission we had not previously confirmed, as we did not wish to jeopardize our second rescue operation. This marks the first time in military history that two American pilots have been rescued from deep within enemy territory in two separate operations. We will never leave an American soldier behind."
